Attaching the mast base to the board

My family keeps a few windsurfing boards at the house and last summer I learned how to windsurf.  But now I came back and the boards are all taken apart because no one has used them yet this summer.  I figured out how to rig the sail, but the mast foot has been taken out of the track and I have no idea how to get it back in so I can go sailing!  We have a Chinook One-Bolt Twist On Tendon Mast Base, but when I looked in the track on the board there doesn't seem to be anything to screw it into.  I've never dealt with this before, but when i just slide the screw in theres nothing really to twist into.  If my family lost the piece last year when they moved/derigged the boards, is there any way to buy a new one, and if so what is it called?  Thank you

You have probably lost the 'slider nut' that the base will screw into. Attach the nut to the base for about 2-3 turns and then slip the nut down into the mast track at the wide spot. Slide the base forward to the position you want and tighten securely. When dismantling the mast base, be sure to keep the slider nut threaded onto the mast base so it will be there for the next time.
