hole on sails
Question
hi windlover its me again, i would like to ask on what can i do on my sails... i have two sails a neilpryde 4.5 slalom and neilpryde 6.0 gybe my problem is there seems to be some damage on the sails... on the neilpryde 4.5 slalom on the bottom part of the sails the stitches on sails seems to come off on some part and there are some tears on the cloth of the sail but there is still plastic inside the cloth which is not damage... im wondering what i can do to repair it?
the next one is on my neilpryde 6.0 gybe it has a small hole like the size of quarter dollar on the upper mast sleeve ... can i leave it like that or do i have to repair it? if i have to repair it how can i repair it?
also i have another question on regarding my mast, i have and F2 wing two mast. the specs are MCS 28/length 465cm/inside diamter diameter base 48.5/weight 3.1kg will it matched my existing sails?
my neilpryde gybe has this specs: GYBE 6.0

15'7"
boom
187cm
6'2"
min

15'6"
boom

and my other sails is a rafcam slalom 4.5st

the slalom 4.5 has an adjustable top
i have a mistral tall extension mast base what would be the best spec to fit my sails on my F2 mast? thank you very much!
Answer
Hey Martin,
The hole in the mast sleeve should be okay as there really isn't much tension on the cloth there.
For the other sail, look for some Mylar repair tape. Just go for clear and round out any corners before applying. Place a patch on both sides of the sail.
Your mast will work for both sail. You will need to use your extension to get the right length for the 6.0. With your 460cm mast, you will need to add 12-15cm. For the 4.5, just use your base with no extension and make any adjustments with the top of the sail.
Hope this helps.
Keep on sailing,
