the old bic 250
Question
I am looking for parts for it and to see if it was acollectors piece. I would love to ride it but need to find both rudders? fins?
I am 6ft5 and weigh 250. is that going to be a problem on this dinosaur?
can you find pics? it has no graphics at all just white and has a handle hole in the front. blue sail with pink and white on it.
Answer
Hey Adam,
You should be able to get a fin to fit but finding a daggerboard could be difficult. The key item would be the mast base. Do you have the mast base? If not, are there two holes on the board or a slot for the mast base to connect to the board? If two holes, finding a replacement mast base will be extremely difficult. If it is a slot, then an aftermarket base will work.
If you don't have a base and can't find a daggerboard, you can get a fin and use the board as a Stand Up Paddle board. Otherwise, you could make a bench out of it for the back yard. It is definitely NOT a collectors piece. Most older windsurf gear has little or no value.
Hope this helps.
Keep on sailing,
Windlover
