Mistral Tarifa Windsurfer
Question
I just acquired a used Mistral Windsurfer and when we put it together, we broke the mast foot. Any idea where we should look for another? Here are some pics:

Answer
Wow a Tarifa! I used to have one many years ago! Can you take some photos of it and send them? Maybe one with you on it when you get it fixed? It brings back awesome memories (from about 20 years ago) I bought it new, it was a great transition board from big boards to short boarding. OK, enough reminiscing! It looks like the bottom of the universal broke off. You should be able to remove the red part that is in the board. If I remember correctly, you twist the red piece that is in the boards mast track until it is perpendicular to the mast track and you should be able to pull it up. There should be a bold or screw that goes thru the bottom of the red piece and will screw or bolt into a new universal (the black rubber hourglass). The blue piece attached to gold aluminum tube is the mast extension. If I remember, you can unscrew the gold tube from the blue piece to get at the top of the universal screw/bolt. You can buy a universal at any windsurf shop or online. Try Soutportrigging.com They also can help get parts for older boards. If you have windsurfing shop nearby, bring the red piece and mast extension with you. They may be able to fix it for you if you cannot. Let me know hot it turns out!
