I am doing a essay on the history of skiing and I'd like to ask you a few questions. If you can't answer all of the questions that is fine.
1.   When was skiing first invented?
2.   Where was skiing first invented?
3.   Who came up with skiing?
4.   How did skiing begin?
5.   Was skiing popular when it was first invented?
6.   What where the first skies made out of?
7.   Where was the first ski lift and when was it made?
8.   Where was the first ski resort and when was it established?
9.   When was the first snow making machine invented?
10.   Was skiing in the first Olympics? If not when?

However i think the google machine will be able to answer these for you.

You may find some of the answers interesting as they are not all obvious.
You will find skiing goes back to the Norse and Inuits. As to which was first?
I wouldnt like to guess.
