Ski shapes

Question
QUESTION: How would my Rossignol B3 skis be classified?
1. Camber  2. Shovel Rocker  3. Something else

I know they are not Full Rocker skis for sure.
I suspect Camber with above average float capabilities.  But I am just guessing.  Appreciate your help with this.

#3. Something else, as in All Mountain skis. Some would consider them somewhat of a freeride ski as they perform well in most conditions but not so well in the parks. They are advertised as an 'All Mountain' ski. Most reviews are positive with some mixed reviews. Mostly depends upon the type of skier and the conditions they ski in the most.

QUESTION: Thanks Windlover.  As my skis age...I will be interested in similar updated skis.  The B3s have been around for a few years now...Rossignol's president answered my inquiry to his company directly when I asked what the B3 successor was...He said perhaps the SC80 was the closest. But do you have a suggestion for a "next act"?  What has spoiled me in the B3s is:
1) hold edge on very icy surfaces (which was a pleasant surprise)
2) gives skiers like me, who fall in the high intermediate/low advanced category, great confidence on bumps and in tight trees
3) Cut through any crud while also being very forgiving of turn initiation mistakes
4) Are so quick edge to edge and able to "turn on a dime". This saves the legs big time. I normally ski 7 hours straight w/o lunch for 4 or 5 straight days...legs no longer get burned out as before the B3s.
5) Very stable at speed even in short lengths (mine are 160s and I'm 5' 10" 180lbs)very damped never any chatter, even on ice.

Are you aware of skis with these daunting attributes that have been produced in the last year or so?  I know...I just want it all. Ha! But I don't have to tell you. When you have the right all mountain skis...it is heaven on the mountain.

Hey Renn,

I'm pretty much a teleskier these days so don't keep up on the newest alpine gear as well as I should. I feel that if you want the performance you are getting with your B3's, just stick to any top brand 'All Mountain' ski and you should get similar performance. The great thing about all mountain skis is that they perform in pretty much all conditions. There may be a weak point or two with different brands but the positives usually outweigh any weak points. When you get ready to update your skis, just do some research and read all the reviews you can find on the models you are looking at. If possible, demo a variety of models through your local shop or ski hill. Nothing beats a direct comparison like actually skiing a ski.
