base jumping?

take my riddle somewhere else, well I'd be happy to, sorry to bother you when you are signed up to help people with their questions, providing a free service.  Sounds like I will take it somewhere else, like someone who can properly answer a question without being rude, not to mention "going way off track".  You have a nice day , my review of you will be posted, no doubt, as well as reported to Allexperts.com....not good for you.  Hope you get a kick out of hurting people's feelings, when they are just trying tp get information that they need help with.  Hope you have a better day tommorrow, and think before you speak, especially when you put it in writing. Experts should be more careful and responsible than that.  How do you sleep at night, knowing you've been so rude?

Here goes:

The base of the mountain in this Montana area  may look like a spring yard sale after all the "jumpers" jump.

Any ideas, I'm guessing spring like maybe the time of year, or spring as in maybe bungee jumping at the base of a mountain.  I'd like to see how you interpret this clue/hint. Or base jumping... a good possibility, but I don't know what base jumping is.  So, that what I'm thinking about regarding this clue so far.  Can't eait to hear your response.  thank you so much for your time.

Hey Dan/Cheryl,

The clue could pertain to 'smoke jumpers' as there would be quite a bit of stuff lying around after they all get down, similar to a spring yard sale.

It could also pertain to 'base jumpers' gear lying around after a bunch of them have jumped. Base jumping is when people jump off of a stationary object such as a building, bridge, cliff, tower, etc., free fall for a short time, and then deploy their parachute for a short flight. It is a fairly safe yet dangerous sport as there is no room for error and no time for a second chute to open (which they don't carry anyway).

And your clue could describe a bunch of lemmings that just followed each other over a cliff and it looks like a yard sale with all the lemmings strewn about.

Lemmings are small rat like rodents that migrate every so often. They migrate to find less populated areas when the herd gets too large. They also have poor vision and usually cannot tell  a small stream or river from a lake or ocean. They will sometimes start swimming and end up drowning because the swim is too long. They also tend to fall off cliffs and such when they get too crowded at the edge or don't realize there is a drop.

So, there is a myth that lemmings migrate to the ocean to die or that when one jumps off a cliff, the others will follow. So, when you hear about a crowd of people acting like lemmings, it means that they are not thinking individually, but as a group and are not making good decisions.

As for the rest of the puzzle, I already gave you my thoughts. Please take your riddle somewhere else.

You admitted not knowing what base jumping was or what lemmings are. I answered those for you. I am a volunteer here, just like all the other experts.
