Shaping Ski Boots
Question
I am a level 7 +/- skier, over the past twenty years I have always rented my skis and boots, my feet have always cramped and I end skiing with the boots un-buckled or very loose.
This year I purchased both skis and boots, the boot are Salomon. I just got back for a Breckenridge ski trip trying out the new boots and skis. The skis were great but I had the same problem with the boots, I had major cramps in my feet and I end up skiing with the boots un-buckled.
I live in Milwaukee WI, is there a shop that can send me a mold via mail to get a mold of my feet and reshape the boots? If not what do you recommend, I only go out west skiing once a year and normally I do not have much time on the ground. That is the reason I am questing sending things via mail.
Thanks
Answer
Hi John,
You may have received an answer to this already as you posted this in the Question Pool. If someone has not responded can you provide the following information:
1) Where doe the cramping start on your foot?
2) Is this a gradual sensation or an immediate one?
2) Do you feel any pressure points besides the cramping?
Properly fitted boots as you know are the foundation not only of enjoyment while skiing but also good skiing. While your feet are sending all these signals of discomfort to the brain there isn't much more that can be relayed about balance, etc.
Hope someone can help you out here.
Glenn
