Ski Boot Sizing - HELP!
Question
Hello, I have a question about Ski Boot Sizing. I have 2 pair of Salomon SX82 Ski Boots and they have a number on the back and one is marked 330 and the other pair is marked 335. The insoles have 335/35 and on the boot it has 330 ?345 Made in France. Anyhow, could you tell me what U.S. size they are? Or tell me how I can size them. We don抰 have much call for ski boots in Alabama so I have placed them on our internal office bulletin board for sell but when I am asked what size they are I tell them I think Size 8 but that is just a SWAG.
Thanks for your help.

Answer
Hi Ray,
Salomon used a system that was based upon foot volume, rather than length/width. A 355 was a 10.5, 345 a 9.5, so I'm almost positive that a 335 is an 8.5. Do you have a sole-length on the boot? Usually this is a number along either side of the heel, or on the bottom of the shell. It should be about 295-305 for an 8.5 boot.
One thing to be aware of is that a boot this old may not be very stable anymore- the plastic can simply break apart. You may not want to sell them to someone who is planning a ski trip, and is depending upon the boots to hold up.
Best of luck, hope this helps!
