skating in NYC

Question
where are some good places in NYC to roller skate? MY seven year old is having a birthday and this is how she wants to celebrate...her school is in Manhattan, so could you start with a list of Manhattan sites?

Unfortunately there are no Rinks in Manhattan where you could have a birthday party for a 7 year old. Roxy, where I teach has a 21 & up age limit & Chelsea Piers & Wollman Rinks don't open till April (because they are outdoor rinks).
The only indoor rink that I know of in the N.Y. area that caters to children & does have birthday partys for children is The Key Skating Center located at 138th St. & Grand Concourse in the Bronx (tel: 1 718 401-0700). They are very close to NYC & very easy to reach - they are 2 stops after 125th St. on the #4 or #5 train line & when you exit the subway they are within sight of the station - 2 short blocks away. "The Key" is big & has an excellent floor & facilities. I hope this works out for you.........Skate Guru
