where to skate in NYC

Question
I heard there were a bunch of people who meet around the NY Union Square area to skate around Manhattan every Wednesday. Is that true? And if so, where do they meet?

Any info about this subject would be appreciated.

There is indeed a group of skaters who skates around Manhattan.
