roller blade wheels
Question
should I change my bearings with the wheels? Just recently put on new wheels with old bearings and they are not all spinning freely. I'm looking to go a little faster should I just pony up and get new blades? I've had these for a decade now.
Answer
Joe,
You have 2 choices - if you don't mind the labor - you can clean & oil your bearings - it's not a job I like to do - it's messy & time consuming. Great if you don't mind the labor & saves you the expense of new bearings.
Second choice is new bearings for your new wheels, you'll appreciate the improved performance.
You don't need to go for the new inlines unless you are looking for some of the updated features built into the newer skates - there are some tempting goodies to be found in the latest technology that might make the upgrade worth your while though. Go to your local skate shop & check out the new line & see if something jumps out at you. There are a lot of hot items out there!
