QuestionI am buying a building that was a skating rink. The flooring is still there and has to come up. Is there a market for this ?? It is to nice of a floor to just disguard it and I won't have room to store it for a long time. Any ideas ????
AnswerHi Bret,
Yes, there could be a market for your floor. I only know of a couple places where you could advertise that skaters and rink owners would see your ad.
This is the Roller Skating Association. They put out a newsletter where people advertise skating items. This would probably be your best bet. http://www.rollerskating.org/classified.cfm
Just copy and paste the web address to your browser and they will explain how it works. This is a wide spread newsletter so hopefully someone will respond if you place an ad.
This next one is our skating National Office that puts out a skating magazine that is even more wide spread than the one above. I'm giving you Richard Hawkins email address. I believe he's the one that can answer your question and if not, he can direct you to a person that can help. His email address is:
[email protected]
This next one you can do for free if you care to take the time. This is a web site that gives links to tons of skating rinks in the US. If you choose you can click the link that takes you to the rink web site. Then send them an email. Tell them what type of flooring you have, what size rink it came from, the condition, etc. If they don't need it you can ask if they know anyone who might.

Good Luck......I hope you find a buyer. It would be a shame to have to throw it out.
