junk skates

Question
I just bought these mongoose brand skates from some dude on craigs list. The have cloth boots in which i never used before. Is it me or just that the skates are garbage??

  Mongoose skates are mostly used for beginner skaters.  There's a resistance in the wheel which intentionally slows the wheel down.  If you're not a beginner then this might not be the type of skate you were looking for.

  But......the upside to them is that you could afford them, right?  The cloth boot is good and bad.  It gives you more flexibility but not as much support as the hard boots.

  If they fit good and the price was right (new ones cost about $40.00 tops) remember you can always upgrade the wheels and bearings later when you have the money.  It just depends if your comfortable with the cloth boot and you like the looks of the skate.

  I hope this helps.  If you really don't like them, see if you can return them.  If not...just upgrade the bearings first.  That should give you a better roll.  If it's still not the roll you want then upgrade the wheel.  Then you should be happy with them.
