My blades slant to one side
Question
I recently got a pair of DBX Recruit rollerblades for christmas. I began using them and have found that my right foot slants to the outside about 95% of the time of use. It causes a lot of strain on my leg and ankle and makes riding very difficult and uncomfortable. I was just wondering if this is normal for beginner users or if there is something wrong with my blades. Thank you for the help.
Answer
Hi Justin,
Not to worry......that's very common for new skaters. All of us have one foot that stronger than the other and we all have a favorite foot where things always seem easier.
Apparently your right foot is not your favorite foot. To correct it from slanting outward, try to keep your feet close together when you skate and force the foot to stay straight up on the wheels not allowing it to slant outward. Make sure the boot is snug enough to support your ankle too.
New skaters tend to keep their feet to far apart so just focus on keeping your feet close together and the wheels straight up and with a little practice and patience it will correct itself.
Good Luck and keep at it. Once you are straight up on the wheels it will take the stress off your ankle and you'll be comfortable skating.
If I can help with anything else, feel free to email me again.
