Skates to Donate
Question
Hello, Pat,
I have two pair of "quad" roller skates that I no longer use, due to my age: One pair is outdoor (gray) & the other pair is indoor (black); both are size 13.
These are good skates, well maintained and in good condition (although the outdoor skates are a bit scuffed up, as you might expect).
The indoor skates have the best Riedell boots that were available back in the 1990s, as well as Snyder plates and quality indoor wheels. These were wonderful dance skates. There is also an extra set of outdoor wheels that could be used on the indoor skates, if desired.
There is also a small, manual, wheel bearing press that I no longer need.
I am willing to donate these skates, as I wish that them to be used and enjoyed again. Can you help me find them a good home?
Thank you,
Jack
Answer
Hi Jack,
I'm sorry to hear you're giving up skating, it's such good exercise. I'm not sure where you're located but I know I could find a good home for your skates. I teach a lot of people and have new skaters starting all the time who want good equipment but can't afford it at the moment because of the economy or their particular circumstance. Size 13 use to be considered a rather large size but I've found with today's kids, it's a very common size so I would have no trouble finding a good owner for your skates.
I for one, would love to have the bearing press as I would keep it at the rink for my competitive skaters to use when needed.
I teach skating in Aurora, Illinois. If this is something you would care to consider and is a feasible place to ship to ......please write me back using the privacy settings and I will give you details where to ship to.
Thank you so much for wanting to donate your equipment, that's very generous. I promise I will find someone who needs them and will take good care of them.
I'll wait to hear back from you.
