Skateboard brands (which one to pick for me)
Question
Hi
i'm from Belgium and I've been riding an Element deck for 6 months. It was almost new, just paint was off from boardslide and tails were halfwaisted from ollie and so.
Now, i weigh 65 kilos (I guess around 125 pound?)and yesterday I did a small pop-shovit of a funbox (like 15 cm or so)
and my board broke in the middle...
Now I landed bad I know, but still.... an Element deck shouldn't just break?
one more thing, 2 days before the accident, one funny guy came splashing with water and my griptape was wetted with some water between the truck bolts;... could that be the cause?
anyway, i'd like to know what I should buy... Any advice on a brand that doesn't break easily?
Answer
hi fred, well that's a pretty lenghty time for a deck to last, i usually have to throw decks away after a month. plus sometimes you just don't know why a deck breaks, water is not good for the deck it makes it soft. plus landing in the middle of the board will break any brand board, even if it's brand spanking new, as long as you land hard enough it'll break, so just try to land over the bolts and you'll be fine.
i have good experiences with alien workshop and flip give them a try !
