Buying a board for a 6 yr old
Question
My 6 yr old daughter really wants a skateboard for Christmas.
I skated when I was a kid but never could do many tricks (never got how to ollie) so I quit. I know that her being a girl isnt a reason not to buy one for her,(I am a girl as well)
ok to my questions.
What size board should I get for her? Things have changed alot since I last skated 10 yrs ago.
really could you just give me some reccomendations or examples of what to buy?
Is she to young? How will she learn? can you hire people to teach a kid to skate?
Thanks for any info you can give me!
Answer
Hmmm, I've never had a question like this before... but I can help you. The size doesn't matter if your six years old. If you get her any size, she will learn on that board and get used to it. She will most likely use that size most of her skating life. I would get a 7.5 though, since it's smaller. Good skateboards can be pretty expensive now, depending on what you buy. A good skateboard would be am ATM blank deck, Grind King trucks, blank white wheels, HKD bearings(made by Flip), and Shorty's hardware. And no shes not too young, the earlier a kid startes to skate, the better. She will most likely learn on her own altough the skateboard might be too big for her to learn on, at least she can get used to it. I don't know any place where you can hire a person to teach a kid to skateboard. Im sure there is a place somewhere though. I learned everything i know by myself.
Anywayz, hope I helped, and have a good Christmas!
