Truck Size
Question
OK. I was once a skateboarder back in the day. iam tlaking 8th grade and freshman year. right now I am a senior in high school. I decided to start again. I busted out my old DC's and hopped on my old Element. About an hour ridding I snapped it like a twig. So I bought a new Element Section. With Tensor Lo's. I noticed that they are too low. I really can't satnd them becasue I don't seem to get as much pop becasue of how close to the board they are. They also leave wheel burns in my deck. Anyway, I want to buy new trucks...I was thinking destruckto's but I am not sure. I need something midsize right? Another question is my board is 7.6 something wide, and my tensors have a 7.75 axel size. Is that right? Or when I buy my new trucks should I look for something with a 7.5 axel size?
Brian-
I really appreciate it. I am so lost. I think it has been too long. haha. So thanks for the help.
Answer
Well first off, buy some riser pads and new hardware if the original ones are too short, that'll save you some bucks and let you know if it's you or the board that's not poping those ollies.
Take your stuff to a shop, take the trucks off, lay down the risers, lay down YOUR trucks on top of the risers, then put a Destructo in front of them and look at the difference. Get a thicker riser if need be. This will tell you exactly how taller trucks vs risers will do.
If you don't like the way they turn, that's a whole other ball of wax, and then you should try someone else's board with the trucks you are thinking about buying.
Good luck and hopes this helps!
