Question
hi again...well i've been now practicing ollie for 3 days i think... but i just cant slide my foot up...and today i got help from this kid in my school and he said he learned ollie in 1 hour... and he try and try to teach me how to ollie but i just couldnt get it... so in the end he just said maybe i wasnt just meant to be pro skater...and i am kinda thinking the same thing...did all the pro skaters learn ollie in less than a week?
well thanks in advance
Sincerely Yeonsil~
Answer
nope. some took longer. don't slide your foot, concentrate on popping the tail, and jumping. let me say it again:
DON'T WORRY ABOUT SLIDING YOUR FOOT!
and one more thing, don't judge your progress by others, just keep doing it because you like to. I'm an old geeser in skater age, and if I judged my ability on others, I'd be in the hospital every other week. So what that he learned it in less than an hour. It took me a week, and even then I'm still working on my technique - that's the beauty of it. This sport is ever evolving and changing. Learn the ollie, but don't get too frustrated at it, and just keep trying.
