J.C. Higgins Model 31 22 cal. rifle
Question
I was given this rifle with a J.C. Higgins "Rifleman 4X" scope attached. I know it was manufactured for Sears Roebuck and Co. but I would like some more info. on it such as its approximate age and value. It has some surface rust on it and I am trying to decide if I should get it cleaned and reblued or if doing so would hurt it if it has any value.
Answer
It was Made by High Standard between the mid 1960s to the mid 1970s

If you like the gun go ahead and do it,
