Question10 or so years ago, I took apart a 25, it is an older version, wood stock, stamped metal trigger area, has 5 patents listed on it, the latest 1,573,383. My question is how does the spring for the trigger fit into the gun. I have played with it for hours! Any help you could give would be appreciated.
AnswerDave - Yes, that little jewel can be a bugger the first time you put it back in - and just an aggrivation the next times! ;-)
Let me try to talk you through it, then, if that's too difficult, you can contact me direct and I'll send you some pictures that makes it a bunch easier!
Here goes:
Lay the trigger in front of you, with the smooth part of the trigger (where your finger normally presses) to the left, leaving the ears, with the hole in it, to the right.
Now, lay the "L" shaped spring to the right of the trigger,
in the same manner - with the shortor leg of the "L" to the left, with the longer portion extending to the right.
(Like, if we were to turn this "L" to the right one quarter turn.)
Now, the spring inserts into the hollow of the trigger in
the exact same position....tight against the trigger.
Using artificial sinew, I wrap the upper leg portions together - tightly - enough to hold it in position. (You probably won't have the sinew - but dental floss will work very nicely - it's super strong without being bulky.)
Now - assemble the gun with the trigger and spring tied together.
After it is all together, except for the butt stock - reach in with an exacto knife, or similar, and cut the string. Get all of that string out of there so it doesn't cause problems later. (Tweezers work pretty well for this!)
Now you should be able to insert the butt stock, secure it with the bolt and screw, and you're ready to go!
Now - if you have any problems at all that you just can't solve - give me a shout at <
[email protected]> and I'll send you those pictures. I can't send 'em through
this system, or I would include them now.
If it will help your ego any, Dave - I have answered this very same question more times than any other one, in-
cluding, "How much is my gun worth?" So, be assured, it is not "YOU", it's the dumb looking spring - BUT, even though it may appear dumb, it works very nicely once assembled.
Take care my friend, and God Bless - just remember,

Shoot whar yer a aimin'!
