Choosing a spotting scope

I'd like to get by with the least outlay necessary. I've been looking at scopes in the under $300 range, and some of them look o.k, but I don't feel that i know enough about the subject to make a well-informed choice.

Here are two others
Bushnell Trophy and Winchester banded scope.
Price shop Cabelas may not be the best deal.
Both would serve you fine
Spotting scopes break down into a few groups
under $100
200 to 300
and over 600.
Not a whole lot of difference in those price groups.
it comes down to personal preferance.
You will need an elevating tripod.
You also may want check you local surplus store.
Sometimes have military scopes cheap.
Military scopes are very high end.
