I recently had the opportunity to obtain what I thought was a modified (SPORTERISED) 303SMLE. This inturn turned out to be a 7.7 x 55 . My question is how available is the ammunition?

I would suggest checking with J. Christopher Co. at www.ammunitions.com They manufacture custom hard to find ammo for situations just like yours. You can also email them at [email protected]. Their phone number is 406-490-2980

I'm sure they will be able to help you and/or direct you to a manufacture who can. I've known others who have been successful in obtaining hard to find (if at all) ammo from J. Christopher Co. I would have no guess at what cost this would be. No doubt you won't be paying 30-06 ammo prices for sure.
