Winchester model 1400 Ranger
Question
I have a Winchester Model 1400 Ranger. Its a 20 gauge semi-auto. It has the winchoke tube system. I was wondering if you can shoot deer slugs with this barrel. Do you take the choke tube out, leave it in or get a different barrel(rifled).
Thanks in advance
Andy
Answer
First never any shotgun without a choke tube in place.
You can fire slugs with the inproved cylinder tube in place. You would be better served by the 22" slug barrel
with rifle sites. It is a smooth bore barrel. It has better sites and quicker swing. There are also rifled choke tubes you can use with your current barrel.
You could also get a cylinder tube.

The Hastings 5" rifled choke works well.
