Ranger 12 g. Shotgun
Question
Hello, I recently aquired an old Ranger 12G. pump Shotgun. It is in well used condition but with no damage. I am trying to find some history on this gun. I know its old and belonged to my grandfather. I would never sell it since its inherited, I am curious on its value and possible its age. Below are the specs
Thanks,
Don
Ranger
model # 30
Serial Behind trigger- U 74046
Original Manfctr - Stevens
Original Model- # 520A
Answer
Don,
I would not sell it either. The retail value in good condition is about $150. It was made from about 1912 until the mid-30's.
On a personal note (not that you ask) but........ In my humble opinion, there just is no value that could be placed on one of my Grandfather's guns. The value is what it is worth to you. IE. If you wouldn't sell it for $1,000 then obviously its "worth" much more than that (to you).
If only guns could talk ! Enjoy your Grandfather's gun for what it is. You no doubt do consider yourself lucky to have it.
Thanks for the question Don.
