Ithaca M-49 .22
Question
To continue the saga of the M-49 rifle, I would like to know if age adds to the value. I have my step father's faithful rifle that has not been fired since 1965. It is in good condition. Is this gun valuable or something that I can pass to my great grandson as his first hunting partner?
Answer
The standard grade M-49 in good to very good condition
is worth $100 to $125.
I pass it on as a family hierloom.
Its a sturdy well made rifle that was inexpensive when new. They were made from 1961 to 1979.
The deluxe model with higher grade wood and gold plated trigger adds $25 to $50. There was also an engraved presentation version that are worth $200 to $250
