I have recently purchased a brand new Winchester Select Energy Sporting Clays W/ an Adjustable Comb, and I was wondering your ideas on this gun and other high-end sporting guns.  Thanks for any information you can give me.

Hi Chad,

I personally think that any of the Browning/Winchester line of shotguns are great guns in general. The W.S.E. in the clays version will be a sweet shooter without a doubt. I think that you have made a great investment. I shoot a version of the same gun for both Sporting Clays and Skeet. I've never been sorry for making the purchase.

As for "high-end sporting guns" in general. Basically you get what you pay for. There are many shotguns available that do not meet this definition and most are adequate for their intended purpose. However, you get much better workmanship, reliability, and a higher resale value when you invest in one the "high-end" shotguns.
