rifle stock
Question
Hi, Is there any formula for calculating the length of pull based on forearm and hand size of the shooter?
Answer
To do this right, you need to go to a gunsmith, who will use some old but sophisticated instruments to measure you for a perfect stock.
Most guns out of the box to long for most shooters. A "quick and dirty" method of calculating stock length (it's the one I always use) is hold the rifle or shotgun in comfortable grip with my shooting hand, barrel pointed in the air. The stock is the right length if I can rest it in the crook of my arm, where my biceps meets the inside of my elbow.
