my name is Adrian and I have a question about sniper rifles. What is the most powerfull sniper rifle and which sniper rifle is with most shooting range. Is there a rifle with range, more then 2000m. Thank you

Hi Adrian.

I am not a rifle expert however I am familiar with some military accounts of sniper rifle usage.  According to one article I read, the longest confirmed sniper kill of the Gulf War was made by a Barrett Model 82A1 sniper rifle at a range of 1,800 meters.

The actual range of a sniper rifle will depend on many factors:  caliber, cartridge style and specific components, barrel length, action type, inherent accuracy of the rifle, skill of the shooter, weather conditions, terrain, etc.

According to most resources the maximum range of a .50 BMG sniper rifle is close to or in some cases will exceed 2,000 meters.  You can read more about sniper rifles on this site:

Rifle ranges vary significantly based on location and their intended usage.  Many public ranges will only have targets out to a few hundred yards but some gun clubs have ranges out to 1,000 yards or so to accommodate target practice and competitive events.  There are also military ranges and privately owned ranges which are not open to the public and it is likely that at least a few of these have the capability to practice safely out to 2,000 meters or beyond.
