Glock vs. Springfield XD

What is your opinion on which is better( more reliable, accurate, comfortable etc.) Between the Glock 40 and the Spingfield XD? I am very new to the realm of handguns but would appreciate some advice. If you can help great if not thanks anyway.

I don't have a Glock, so I can only say that my friends who have one say that it is reliable and they like it a lot.  I just bought a Springfield XD in .45ACP.  So far, it seems like a great gun.  It functions well and is very well made.  The only problem I've found is that the trigger is very heavy, but I think the Glock (and most handguns) is the same way.  I'm going to have some trigger work done to improve it.  As far as accuracy, they are both well made and I expect that the accuracy (with the best ammo for the particular gun) will be equivalent between the two.  The XD is nice because it comes with a holster and a magazine holster.
