rare gun question

Sid i have ran across a W. H. Hamilton side by side double hammer black powder shotgun with Demascus barrels and cannot find any record of it and am trying to see if you have ever heard of one or know where i can find out more about it. i would like to know the perspected value of a gun like this is. all help is appreciated. thanks and look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hi Kyle,
The W. H. Hamilton Co. of New York was an importer of double barrel shotguns from about 1875 to 1890. The same name appears on some "trade name" guns by F. Dumoulin & Co. between about 1905 and 1910 that were made by Thomas Leary.
At this point its value is more as a "mantle gun" than as a shooter and as such would have an approximate retail value of $150 to $250.
This gun was manufactured to use black powder shells only. Modern shot shells develop too much pressure for the Damascus barrels. So...... please do not attempt to fire it. It is still a pretty neat gun to own regardless.
