Kahr Pm9
Question
I have the exact same problem as Tom Kennedy back in October 2005 with my new Kahr Pm9. After 500 rounds, it will not feed the first round from any of my (3) clips. When I slap the back of the slide, it will chamber the round. I just got it back from my gun smith with no relief. IS THERE ANY NEW OR UPDATED INFORMATION ON THE LIKELY CAUSE?
Answer
Bob,
Unfortunately, when you buy a new design, you get to be the guinea pig. It takes some incredible engineering to get a gun that small to be able to handle the pressure of 9mm and work reliably.
A gunsmith is going to check all the likely culprits (extractor, feedramp, breech face, magazines), but usually does not have the machinery or knowledge of a particular gun (particularly a new one) to change the design parameters.
I think it's time to send the thing back to Kahr.
