Hawes
Question
I have a Hawes hand gun that I cant find anything about. On the left side of the barrel it says Hawes Firearms Co, LA Cal Germany and then three stamps one being the number 67 not sure what the others are. Also on that same side it has a stamp on the that says 3/5577. On the right side of the barrel it says Western Marshall .357 Mag Cal. It has a pearl handle. Any idea on what it might be worth?
Answer
Chris,
Hawes is the importer of handguns that are primarily made in Europe most of which are made by J.P. Sauer in the Western style/Colt Single-Action Army type revolvers.
The "Western Marshal" model has been manufactured in .357 .44mag. .45Colt, .45ACP, .44-40, 9mm, .22LR, and .22 rimfire with fixed sights. The revolver in "Very Good" condition has an approximate retail value of $150.
Thank you for the question Chris.
