Answer
Len,
The Colt MKIV 70 Government Model is basically an updated version of the Colt 1911A1. It was manufactured between 1970 and 1983.
It was available in blue or nickel plate and has checkered walnut grips with the Colt medallion. It is chambered for .45 ACP, .38 Super, and 9mm.
In "V.G." to "Exc." condition it has an approximate retail value of between $400 & $500.
Thanks for the question Len.
