QuestionMy father left my son (who is currently 4) two guns and I am trying to determine what they might be worth...
One is a 20 gage model 24 Winchester ssn#259-96 and the other one is a browning superposed over/under shotgun ssn24166 in hard case with org. paperwork. A friend estimated them to be worth about $800 and $3,000 respectively.
Does that sound right to you?
Thanks so much...

AnswerLisa,
I am not familiar with Winchester model 24's. The Browning you have, is it a 12 Gauge, 20 Gauge, 28 Guage or 410? Does it have a rubber butt pad? What kind of condition is in? Any rust, pitting in the metal, blue ware, scratches or dings in the stock? There are a lot of things to consider when trying to give a rough estimate. Without having all of the information it is difficult to say. If you get a chance, e-mail a picture or two of the Browning to me and the information above and I will try to help you further.
The value is one thing, but the important part is that these items were left to your son by his grandfather. That is worth a lot.
