COMMERATIVE RIFLES
Question
WHAT IS THE VALUE OF THESE 2 RIFLES BUFFALO BILL COMMERATIVE WINCHESTER MODEL 94 AND A JOHN WAYNE COMMERATIVE MODEL 94
Answer
Gene,
As I have stated, I cannot give prices or evaluations of any particular gun. It is difficult to do with the gun in your hand, and next to impossible without. Long guns are not my area of expertise, further compounding the situation.
The Blue Book of Gun Values shows several different listings for the Buffalo Bill rifle. Assuming that you do not have the "Presidential" edition, maximum value would be about $450.00, new, in the box.
The John Wayne MIGHT be the "1981" John Wayne, which the book shows a maximum of $1000.00 for, new, and in the box.
The problem is that the book is not comprehensive when it comes to commemorative or special edition runs. The next problem is that the prices can vary widely from one geographic location to the next, and also with the closing of Winchesters manufacturing plant, has sent many prices for even standard guns through the roof. Furthermore, there are some other editions of both of those rifles that are worth considerably more than the prices that I quoted you.
You would have to compare the gun itself to the models that were issued to determine which one you actually have. I would check the local library for a copy of The Blue Book of Gun Values and see what is listed there.
I hope this has helped.
