remington 700 adl
Question
i have a 7mm mag 700 adl that i bought new a month ago.
will floating the barrel be worth it considering that the stock has no mounting block? i mean that it is synthetic without the metal mounting block.
Answer
I'm not sure what the stock is made out of, but generally speaking, yes, it usually improves accuracy to glass bed the action and float the barrel.
It is a simple and inexpensive procedure. My favorite way of doing it is with Brownells AcraGlass gel. It is not a hard job, but can be nerve-wracking if you've never done it before, and a mistake can permanently fuse the action to the stock.
If you haven't done it before, I'd let a gunsmith with experience in bedding do it for you. It certainly couldn't hurt, and may very well help.
Carrying an concealed, unholstered firearm in vehicle.
