mounting a scope on a browning sweet sixteen
Question
Doug
I have an old Browning sweet sixteen, that I got from my grandfather. Its so old that its got a suicide safety in side of the trigger guard.I hunt with a slug in Iowa and want to use the old gun with a scope.I don't want to drill and tap the old gun.Any suggestions? Thanks William
Answer
William,
I don't know how else you could mount a scope on this gun any other way. I'd agree that because of the age and sentimental value you might not want to drill it. You need to bear in mind that a rifled slug from a shotgun is not going to be accurate much beyond 75 to 100 yards at best. It might not be worth the effort to even put a scope on it...
Sorry I can't be of more help...good luck with your hunting!
