Value and age of my inheirted shotgun

Sid I inherited my fathers fathers Iver Johnson's Champion shotgun at my fathers death last year and I have been trying to find the value of this gun just for personal reasons (not for resell).As I stated before it is a Iver Johnson's Champion model 12 gauge single shot, W/a 30 inch ribbed barrel, it breaks down and has a hammer like most shotguns do with serial #10525C.It also has Arms & Cycle works Fitchburg,Mass,USA stamped on it. I have been told that there wasn't many of these guns produced with the ribbed barrel. I hope this is the info you need.I have never researched anything like this before and am fairly new to the world of computers (ha ha)so will you email me the answer or is there a link where i will have to go to recieve the answer.Any info you can give me will be greatly appreciated.

The Iver Johnson "Champion" was manufactured from 1909 to 1956. It was a single barrel shotgun that was available in a variety of gauges and, was also available in a .44 or .45 caliber. It had an external hammer and auto ejector. They came standard with a walnut stock and a blue steel barrel.

Now as for the "rib"...... They made the exact same gun as the above but also with a "Matted Rib Grade". It was available in 12, 16, and 20 gauge/s. These were made from 1909 to 1948 and if in "good" condition would have an approximate retail value of $100 to $125.

There was also a "Trap Grade" which came with a 32" barrel and a vent rib. It was made from 1909 to 1942 and if in "good" condition would have an approximate retail value of $250.
