20 Gauge O/U Model 400
Question
My husband aquired a shotgun last weekend from his dad, My husband is
curious to know the age and value of the gun but we can't find
anything. I think he said it is a Ted Williams 20 Gauge O/U Model 400. Any
idea on the age or value
Answer
Kristi,
Ted Williams is just a trade-name used by Sears on shotguns sold by them over the years as is J.C. Higgins. They were manufactured for Sears by a variety of gun manufactures.
Although I do not have an exact year of manufacture to share, I can tell you that they were primarily made from the mid 50's to late 60's.
If in "good" condition it would have an approximate retail value of $500.
I hope this gives you some direction and thanks for the question.
Sid Lark.
