Answer
Bill,
You didn't provide me very much information to go on, so I had to make a few assumptions. I believer what you have is a Springfield Model 15 .22 caliber rifle. It would be a single shot, bolt action with a one piece integral barrel and receiver. You should also have a manual cocking piece at the end of the bolt. If this is indeed what you have, they were manufactured between 1936 and 1945. There were around 225,000 of them made, many under house brand names for J.C. Penney and others.
The values below are provided from the 28th edition of the Blue Book of Gun Values. Since I don't have any information from you on condition, I have given you a range to work with. You would need to have someone who is familiar with grading to give you a good opinion of what condition your gun is in.
New in box - $200
95% condition -- $165
90% condition -- $135
80% condition -- $115
70% condition -- $95
60% condition -- $80
Beyond that, I can't give you too much more detailed info without serial numbers or photos.
Hope this helps you out.
Regards,
Doug
