browning safari L22

hi, i have a safari 30/06 serial # L22 i am trying to find year of man. mostly,and approx. value. it is well used, but not "beaten", just the average wear of a hunting rifle here in alaska. not rusty, but some bluing wear and marks on stock.  i have owned it since 1967 and got it used then.  any help you can give would be very appreciated.  thanks, bob norberg--homer alaska    p.s. it  has done well by me!  i lived in the "bush" for7 yrs. got moose,bear,caribou,etc for family with it and still use it here in "town" when i go hunting. thanks again bob n

Your rifle was made in 1959 and is probably the 22 nd rifle made for Browning by FN. It most likely arrived in the U.S. in January of 1960 as this was when Browning introduced the Belgium Browning Bolt Action rifle to the American market. Hope this helps.
