Iver Johnson .410 Champion, Serial Number 106
Question
Mr. Little--
I have recently inherited an Iver Johnson "Champion" .410 single shot shotgun from my grandfather. Being a very early production model (serial number 106), I would like to restore it and have it displayed in my home for sentimental reasons. I know you do not offer advice on repair or restoration, but I was hoping you could point me in the direction of resources for the restoration of old firearms. The gun is in decent working condition, but is in need of some TLC and cosmetic care. Any suggestion? Thank you very much for your time.

I'd contact a couple of these guys and tell them what you are looking for. Get a feel for the kind of work they do and the prices they charge. Understand that restoration is much more than just 'cleanup'. It is the process of restoring the gun to as close to 'original, brand new condition' as possible. You want to make sure that you get high quality work...
Hope this helps you out...
