A5 Sweet 16

I have review many of your answers to questions on Sweet 16 shot guns. I am anxious to know when my Sweet 16 was manufactured and a general estimate of its value. It's in beautify condition and was fired less then 25 times. The serial number on the underneath side of the reciever where the shells are loaded is OS 43122, it has a gold trigger, a raised solid factory rib, total length of shot gun from black butt plate to end of barrel is 46.5 inches, the safety is behind the trigger, it has a modified choke and the following is stamped on the barrel: made in belgium, Browning Arms Company St Louis Mo & Montreal PQ., Special Steel - 16 gauge - shells 2 3/4"

Your sweet 16 was made in 1960 as evident by the 0 prior to the S in the serial number. The S signifies it is the sweet 16 other than the fact it says so on the left side of the recr. It should have a round knob hand grip. The modified choke is fairly common. If it were to have a cylinder or Improved it would be worth a little more. Condition makes all the difference in the world. Assuming it is New in Box it will bring $1700-$1900 fairly quickly from collectors such as myself. A dealer will offer 30% less in most cases. Hope this helps.
