Answer
Hello Chris. I can tell you that you got a heck of a deal! Now for the specifics you asked for. The Springfield rifle Model 1903 was the main US military rifle for WW1 made between 1906 and 1929. Thereafter, with a few modifications, it was known as the Model 1903A1. From the Serial Number 800,000 and up it was produced with an Improved Heat Treatment. This made it more able to digest the modern 30GOV'T1906, or better known as the .30-06 Springfield cartridge.Your firearm with serial number 1094600 was produced in 1919, just missing the nickel steel by 181,167 rifles. You can find a picture of an original 1903 Springfield by going to a site like GunsAmerica.com or GunBroker.com. You will also be able to discern the value of a customized sporter like yours. Hope this helps. Charles Gage
