American Browning
Question
I have found a Browning Auto 5 16 ga. The dealer is asking $800 (Plus tax = $872). The gun is near mint condition. I read on the Browning site that it was produced by Remington between 1940-1946. It has a plain barrel, but it looks like it has never been fired. Would this gun at this price be worth my investment if I bought it to put up? Would it increase in value?
Answer
Nealy,
I never tell anyone not to buy something they are interested in, but the American Brownings by Remington have not (to my knowledge) brought the same intrest as the Belgium Auto 5's. If it is really nice piece and mint condition and you enjoy looking at the shotgun, by all means, buy it. Everyone has different tastes and preferences in collecting. Will the Remington's go up as much as the Belgium era Auto's? Who knows for sure, but I am skeptical.
