Colt .45 made before 1986

Question
I'm wondering if a Colt .45 was made before 1986. If so, would it be powerful
enough to blow someone's head apart at point blank range and if it would be
possible for a small child, (around age 6), to pull the trigger. I heard a story
about an incident like this and am curious of it's validity. Thanks for your
help!

Coth has made the 1911 .45's since the 1911. The first serial numbers were issues in 1912.  Most were made for military during war.  There are lots of stories out there and most tend to grow as they are told.  I would think a six year old child would have a hard time holding the grip safety down while still reaching the trigger and then turning the gun around to face them.  Colts are designed so that the gun will not fire unless the gun is held with the palm of a hand holding down the grip when the finger is in the trigger.  It is possible to defeat this if you know what you are doing.  

I would have to know more details about the incident to give a better opinion.
