Pistol purchase
Question
"I have just completed my CHL training and am looking to acquire two pistols, one for myself and one for my wife(home). I am thinking in the .380 and .40 calibers. Since we both have small hands. I was seeking assistance in which manufacturers make the smaller framed weapons. Being retired USAF my budget is limited so the best "BANG for the Buck" is paramount. I have a Dickson "Detective Special" 32ACP, purchased 40 years ago that has started to malfunction that I hope to repair but want a bit more STOP.Thank you."
Answer
I think the best way to find out what type of gun is most suitable for you is to visit a local gunshop that has a shooting range. They usually have a good selection, and will let you try them out on the range. They usually also offer instruction and guidance on what types to try.
I think that would be a lot better than just getting someone to name a few models and picking one from that list.
Also, once you make a selection, it is important to practice regularly to gain and maintain proficiency.
Hope this helps!
