JC Higgins 22 magazine

I am looking for a magazine for a JC Higgins 22 s,l,lr.The model appears to be 1016.The engraving is not real legible in this area.The elderly owner said the original magazine was a 9 shot.Also if you can who made this rifle? It is a bolt action.Thanks for your time and information.

Hello Ramon. There were literally hundreds of different models of bolt action rifles made for Sears Roebuck up to 1962. Some were manufactured by Marlin,Stevens,Browning among others. This makes it near impossible to find parts for a J.C.Higgins rifle. The value of any of these is so minimal, due to the plain wood and soft metal parts, that also makes it hard to find parts. I wish I could say here they are!, but unfortunately I can not. You might check with this parts supplier. He seems very knowledgeable. Bob's Gun Parts at www.gun-parts.com.
